ABOUT THIS BOOK:
“THERE HAS ALWAYS BEEN ONE BAPTISM”
This biblical book on the subject of “Baptism” – including the baptisms in “water, Holy Spirit, fire” – offers all Bible readers and students a concise, complete and chronological ‘Handbook’ on the subject.
Water Baptism: This book candidly and convincingly presents all the scriptural evidence that supports “water baptism” as being the “One Baptism” of Ephesians 4:5 that is essential for accountable persons to obey and teach. It reveals how “water baptism” is not a meritorious work of man but an act of faith in God whereby a person is “born again” (John 3:5; Titus 3:5). It follows baptism from the “Preparation Period” of John the Baptist and Jesus’ ministry (as per the Gospels) through the “Preaching Period” of the church (Acts to Revelation). It points out the power of baptism (Christ’s blood), the primary purpose of baptism, the persons who must be baptized or “rebaptized” and how scriptural baptism must be performed. It also presents 26 relationships between “water baptism” and other scriptural requirements and spiritual blessings.
Spirit Baptism: This book deals with what “Holy Spirit baptism” is and what it is not. It emphasizes how it only occurred “once for all time” in the Bible. It points out the difference between being “baptized in the Spirit” and receiving “the gift of the Spirit” or receiving miraculous “gifts from the Spirit.”
Fire Baptism: This book deals with what it was and when it occurred. Was it the “tongues as of fire” on Pentecost mentioned in Acts 2, or the fiery destruction of Jerusalem in AD70 as foretold in Matthew 3:7-12, or “hell fire?”
IN THE APPENDIX the reader will find a special study on whether I Corinthians 12:13 is “Water or Spirit Baptism.” Also included are lists of “Faith and Obedience” passages, “Baptism” indices, “Person or Power” distinctions and “AD 70” texts.
